Convenience Store Updates: 3/1/17
Kiln-Baked Pudding Wrapped with Crepe / Family Mart
When do you feel lucky most in your daily life? As for me, it's when I find something discounted at a grocery store. Today was the day I had it at a convenience store, Family Mart.
Yes, it was just a ¥30 off, but the accumulation of a small discount make a difference in the end!
Incredible touch!
The first thing I was wowed after opening the package was its super soft & delicate touch. That's the reason I didn't remove the paper tray for this pic. I was not sure if I can successfully do it without spoiling this beautiful look.
Nice mouth feel but...
Probably most of you don't know this, but major convenience stores in Japan have definitely raised the bar for pudding in the last 5 years, when they've released a series of quality pudding one after another. Thanks to it, the statement on the package "kiln-baked" was good enough to make me have a huge expectation.
Hmmm...it's not bad, but one thing this definitely lacks is appropriate sweetness, in other words, a caramel part. Both the taste & texture of crepe & pudding are fine, but if the layer of caramel was added inside, this could be so much better.
<Review>
If you don't mind pudding without caramel & you're a fan of crepe, this is the one for you. But I'd be hesitant to recommend this to you if you have a real sweet tooth like me.
Thanks for reading.
