Cha In Kan in Ningyocho-1

Have you ever been surprised by actual modern Japanese lifestyle during your stay in Japan?

One of the common voices I've heard from tourists is our heavily coffee-oriented daily life rather than tea.

Yes, the coffee market here has grown rapidly over the last decade & we're increasingly caffeinated by coffee, not by tea.

However, there still are some tea enthusiasts in Tokyo keeping burning their passion inside.

Asian Tea Heaven

Cha In Kan, located in Ningyocho, was the tea house I accidentally found the other day. From its authentic appearance, I was convinced to enter.

Nowadays this type of tea specialty shop is certainly increasing against countless pop-up of coffee shops & bars, but still much fewer.

Stepping inside, comfortable & cozy feel welcomes you with the bunch of tea goods from Taiwan or China.

Make sure your gadgets have enough battery life before reaching here. The entire experience could be photogenic...

Never fail to take a pic of this incredible paper cutting art on the wall!

Reasonable Price

When it comes to appreciating real tea, price tends to be higher than you expect at a professional tea house like here.

However, the owner told me that their goal is offering authentic tea experience at a sustainable & enjoyable way. So they have no-pressure price range.

These Asian tea above are all ¥500-¥600 including a refill. If you can be a bit more adventurous, check another page of menu.

The character of each tea type is described with producing district. Even these higher quality ones are available at around ¥1000.
