Takeshiba Ferry Terminal

Technology, highly advanced railway network & sleek skyscrapers...You might have that kind of a image with our country or Tokyo.

However, analogue marine transport is still alive in today's Tokyo. Seeing those ships & boats with the backdrop of new & old buildings has been my favorite activity.

Access To Terminal

The monorail system leaving from Shinbashi, Yurikamome's Takeshiba Sta. is the most convenient to get there, but it's also nice to start adventure from JR Hamamatsucho Sta. on the Yamanote Line.

Landmark

One of the most instagramable spot in this area is this plaza just outside of the terminal building.

You'll find this symbolic tall mast in the center. Sunny weather will make you take dozens of pics here!

For Whom?

Takeshiba Terminal offers the ships heading towards small islands of Tokyo such as Miyakejima or Hachijojima Island.

Just go up to the observation deck. If you're lucky, you can watch how those boats are set & prepared for a departure.

Look Around!

The reason why I recommend this place is not exclusively because of those ships & boats. Another great part with it is a wide open view available from the deck.

In the north, a series of high-rise condos & Tokyo Skytree should be photographed.

And on the other side, at the entrance of Sumida River, you'll find Hinode Pier, where the boarding point of Sumida River Cruise.

On your back, glimpse of concrete jungle appears with long expanding elevated highways & monorail track.

How about enjoying taking photos of the beautiful combination of water, boats & edgy buildings in the Tokyo Bay Area?

Thanks for reading.
