More Than A Start & End Point

In general, Tokyo Station should be the hub for your stay in Tokyo. But the station itself & neighboring area tend to be passed by without being explored.

So in this article, I'll show you some designs & architectures to check if you have enough time to take a walk around the station.

Naru Biru & Shin Maru Biru

The two tall similar buildings standing just outside the Marunouchi Exit are "Maru Biru" & "Shin Maru-Biru", apparently owned by the same company.

These two fashion & office buildings are a kind of architectural anchor for the area. 

Unlike hundreds of other buildings in Tokyo built to the same concept, spaciousness is highly emphasized from top to bottom. It's quite unusual in this highly dense city. 

From the mini observatory deck on the 5F of Maru Biru, you can overview the entire Tokyo Station & Station Hotel with the backdrop of sleek buildings. 

This 3D wooden work, beautiful contrast to the all-white walls, is found at the entrance of office section, right next to its  fashion part. 

This definitely takes the ambience there to the different level.
