Tokyo Cafe Report: Cha-Nabe Cafe Saryo-1

Place For Tea Fan!

With the ever-growing popularity of tea, now we're seeing wonderful divesification in the ways they are served at cafes & tea shops.

Kagurazaka Saryo, the well-known Japanese tea shop & small cafe chain in Tokyo, is bringing its status to a whole new level with their new approach, "Cha-Nabe"

Creative Concept

Cha=Tea / Nabe=Japanese Pot Dish, the two words stand for like this respectively.

When we cook nabe in winter, we have so many soup options to choose from such as chicken stock, seafood based, tomato soup and so on.

However, blending tea into a nabe soup is a totally out-of-the-box approach

Healthy & Flavorful

What I ordered this time was "Chicken Tsukune & Salted Rice Malt" (¥830).

Tsukune is chicken meatballs & salted rice malt has been a popular seasoning in the last 5 years here in Japan.

Though this doesn't taste like a real tea-based soup, but the package is pretty good. It would make you feel you're eating something good for your health.

Thanks for reading.

To be continued to Ep.2, featuring cake!
